Apparently, the new C4 driver for the Concord 4 / Superbus 2000 RS-232 interface requires that the software version running on the panel be a minimum of 4.81. Are these panels software upgradeable and if so, does anyone know how to accomplish this feat or does that mean that anyone that doesn't meet this requirement has to buy a new panel, rebuild your security system and have the new panel added into your C4 project again in order to reap the benefits of the new driver?I have a panel that is running version 4.40 and was given this information by my installation company. I believe what my installation company told me, but I wanted to start a discussion in the forum about this issue so that everyone is informed if they are hoping to upgrade to the new driver. It was probably mentioned elsewhere on the forum but I didn't see it. No, the main difference is availability of all functions (relay control, default user for disarm, history for example) - I do not know the details on which will or won't work - but those I've seen at least do normal arm/disarm and sensor functions fine)I spoke to my dealer a few minutes ago and he states it will not function properly.
It might send a false alar to police or central station and will not be responsible for it. So I think I might have to get a new one. Also, how can you tell if the firmware is up to date if you are buying one.
I wanted to get one from Amazon. Hi all, I finally get the concord 4 panel with the firmware 4.81 insatll this saturday. I had my dealer installed the updated driver for the interlogix Superbus. The upadte was successful, but the button and are not functional. If I press Arm nothing happens on the alarm.
It seems like the can not use my concord 4 from the Control 4 interface. Please can anyone tell me wat is wrong here. It must the the programming or something.
The actual alarm panel is on partion 1, but the C4 integration have partion 2. Does this have anything to do with not being able to use the conrol4 to arm and disarm the system. ' I mean nothing works' except the actual alarm panel itself. Hi all, I finally get the concord 4 panel with the firmware 4.81 insatll this saturday. ' I mean nothing works' except the actual alarm panel itself.I think that you have answered your own question. You can't expect to arm partition 1 when trying to control partition 2. If your actual system only has 1 partition then you need to ask your dealer why he has set up more than one partition on C4 (or why he as set up partition 2 rather than 1 which really won't work). You could try clicking (not sure that one clicks with ones finger. But clicking sounds more correct than touching) where it shows Partition 2. This should give you the option to change to partition 1. You can then try arming from there.
That said, reading your description, I am a bit doubtful as to whether partition 1 will have been set up correctly? My best advice is to call your dealer! My best advice is to call your dealer! Thanks for your replay.I actually pointed this out to the dealer last night while we were setting up - Remotely. But he said the this partion 2 was setup automatically by the system. Also I do not see any partion 1 on the control 4. So like I said, nothing works for the alarm on control4 side.
I brought to his attention this evening and he texted me back that I should put the master code in composer HE. But i'm still at work so i guess I will try this when I get home. Hi all, I finally get the concord 4 panel with the firmware 4.81 insatll this saturday.

' I mean nothing works' except the actual alarm panel itself. The driver won't 'set up' ANY partition, it just reads what partitions are on the system.6 partition sub-drivers (the max) are added to the system by default but disabled if not available.Other than deleting the driver and re-adding - I'd look at the panel first and foremost for this. So Finally, we got it to work. The dealer and I was working all night. We deleted the driver - remotely in composer and then I rebooted the security system including the Superbus 2000. The dealer reinstalled the driver and somehow the partion is now defaulted to partion 1 where the actual system has been programmed.
Now I see all the zones attached to the alarm.I must say this is pretty neat feature to have. A whole new engaging interface and you actually see the events as they happened right from the C4 App on my cell phone- motion sensor to the count down of the timer when the system is armed. I'm really happy over all.And thanks to all of you and your support and insight.
